The SiloDrill Alu is very robust and offers the highest build quality at an attractive price. This makes it an economical solution for projects with limited budgets or for use in less aggressive environments.
The aluminium SiloDrill is lighter than the stainless steel version, making it easier to handle and transport.
The SiloDrill is a specialised sampler for taking samples of bulk materials from silos or tanks.
When bulk materials are transported over long distances, the vibration and movement involved can cause the material layers to segregate, making it difficult to take a representative sample.
The SiloDrill takes samples from all layers of bulk material, enabling the quality, composition and other relevant properties of the entire stored material to be analysed.
With a diameter of just 90 mm, the SiloDrill can fit through very small openings. A special mechanism makes opening and closing the sampling chamber easy by simply turning the robust T-handle. The spring-loaded inner tube minimises the risk of coarse grains jamming the mechanism. The drilling paddles and scraping edge also enable the sampling of caked and non-flowing bulk materials.
Application area
The SiloDrill is used to check the quality and homogeneity of bulk materials and to detect the early signs of contamination or spoilage in stored materials. It is also used to take samples for follow-up tests required to comply with legal regulations or industry standards. It is used in agriculture to sample grain, seeds, fertilisers and animal feed; in the food industry to sample powdered and granulated foods from storage silos; and in the chemical industry to sample powdered and granulated chemicals from industrial silos.
How to use the product
- Attach the handle to the rod.
- Place the collection chamber on the rod and secure it with the safety clip.
- Using the handle, drill the sampler clockwise into the medium to be sampled to the desired depth (sample chamber is closed).
- At the desired depth, turn the sampler anti-clockwise (sample chamber opens).
- The sample chamber is filled after approx. five turns.
- Turn the sampler clockwise for approx. two turns (sample chamber is closed).
- Pull the sampler by the handle out of the medium to be sampled.
- Remove the safety clip and remove the collection chamber.
- Empty the sample into a suitable collecting vessel.
